T3I Elects New Vice President

Ridgefield, CT. ------ March 15, 1999

Mr. Barry Ressler, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Triton Thalassic Technologies, Inc. (T3I) announced today that Dr. John Coogan has been elected Vice-President, Chief Technology Officer and Technical Director of the corporation.

Mr. Ressler said, "Since joining T3I in July 1997, John has successfully directed the transition of our patented contaminated fluid UV treatment technology to commercialization and has served as the T3I corporate technical spokesperson at industry and scientific symposiums and conferences."

Prior to joining T3I, Dr. Coogan was the team leader for plasma chemistry at the Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) in New Mexico. While at LANL he was the principal investigator on 3 industrial cooperative research and development projects. He managed programs funded by SEMATECH (the government-industry R&D consortium formed in 1987 to support the United States to efforts in advanced semiconductor manufacturing). In addition, he directed projects for the Department of Energy's environmental, technology transfer to U.S. industry and defense initiatives.

Mr. Ressler went on to say, "We look forward to John's continuing technical leadership in the development of our advanced UV technology systems for expanding commercial applications including the treatment and processing of opaque fluids, drinking water, wastewater, industrial process water, aquaculture, and ballast water. Non-fluid application of our advanced UV technology includes light activated processing tools for bulk surface processing, chemical synthesis, control of airborne pathogens and semiconductor fabrication which are also under development."

Dr. Coogan is the author of numerous publications in the fields of plasma processing, ultraviolet light production in rare gases, advanced oxidation techniques for air pollutant and hazardous waste treatment, flash x-ray systems, and environmental applications of pulsed power. He is regularly invited to lead critical technology meetings and workshops related to T3I's primary focus areas.

Dr. Coogan holds a Ph.D., MS and BS in Physics from the University of Texas (Austin and Dallas) and a BA in Philosophy from the University of Dallas in Irving, Texas.

Triton Thalassic Technologies, Inc. (T3I) has developed and manufactures fluid treatment systems that reduce and control bacteria contamination in a range of clear and opaque fluids using only light energy. This system eliminates or greatly reduces the necessity of chlorine or other chemical biocides which can produce dangerous residual byproducts. The benefit of this technology is a healthier workplace environment for millions of workers, improved fluid and water treatment with less use of chemicals that represent an environmental hazard, and lower operating costs for manufacturers through cleaner industrial process technologies.

The company welcomes prospective customers with fluid contamination questions and challenges to use our convenient inquiry response form.
